Gujarat Clerk Recruitment Exam Cancelled: After the year 20219, for the third time, the examination for clerk recruitment has been canceled by the Government of Gujarat. This exam has been canceled due to administrative reasons.

Gujarat Clerk Recruitment:

The clerical recruitment examinations to be held on February 13 by the Gujarat government have been postponed indefinitely due to administrative reasons.

This is the third time after the year 2019 that the written examination for the recruitment to the third class non-secretariat clerk and secretariat service office assistant posts could not be conducted by the state government due to different reasons.

GSSSB i.e. Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board announced in a public notice on Wednesday night that the examination to be held on February 13 has been postponed for the time being and new dates are likely to be announced soon.

According to the government data, around six lakh candidates had registered themselves for the recruitment of around 3500 posts of clerk and office assistant.

The GSSSB had canceled the recruitment exam for the first time in October 2019, citing changes in the eligibility criteria by the General Administration Department (GAD).

At the time of release of advertisement regarding recruitment, the board had announced that the candidates who have passed class 12th can be eligible for the exam.

But, just before the exam date GAD changed the criteria and said that only graduate candidates can appear in the exam.

After a huge uproar, the state government had canceled the exam and announced that the candidates who have passed class 12th can also appear in the written exam.

Later the recruitment exam was conducted on November 17, 2019. But, it was again canceled in December 2019 following allegations of paper leak.

The decision to cancel the exam held earlier was taken after the findings of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up by the state government to probe the allegations of paper leaks came to the fore.
