Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Mains 2022 (JEE Mains 2022) exam dates and registration process are waiting for lakhs of engineering candidates.
National Testing Agency, NTA, the administering body of JEE Mains exam has reportedly reduced the number of attempts this year.
As per the reports, candidates will get 2 chances instead of 4 to crack the engineering entrance exam.
It is also being told that the first attempt of JEE Mains is likely to be held between April-May.
There is no official update from NTA yet. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website for all the updates.
JEE Mains is the national level engineering entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering courses. In 2021, JEE Mains was conducted in 4 sessions- February, March, April and August-September.
The candidates were getting the benefit of appearing in each attempt and their best score was considered as the final score.
Initially, only 1 attempt was allowed in JEE Mains exam, but in 2019 it was increased to 2 attempts and finally 4 attempts were allowed in JEE Mains 2021.

In view of the situation of COVID-19 in the country,
this new step has been taken with the aim of helping the students and making the examination easier. There is a high level of competition in JEE Mains, so it is imperative to look into the concerns of the students and ensure that the pandemic does not hamper their studies.
As per the reports, the education ministry has decided to reduce the effort from 4 to 2 as the COVID situation is stable as compared to the last year. JEE Mains 2022 registration dates are also not announced yet but expected to start soon on the official website.
