NEET PG 2021 counseling:

The  turmoil surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post-Graduate (NEET-PG 2021) counseling had largely calmed down after the Supreme Court’s directive.

Now the announcement of counseling schedule by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday will give more relief to the candidates.

The Union Minister announced that the counseling process of NEET PG 2021 will start from January 12.

In this regard, Union Minister Mandaviya tweeted, “The NEET-PG counseling is being started by MCC from January 12, 2022 after the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, as assured by the Ministry of Health to the resident doctors.”

It was also written in the tweet that this will give more strength to the country in the fight against Corona. Best wishes to all the candidates.

The National Board of Medical Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) had declared the NEET PG 2021 result on September 28, 2021.

The counseling process was to begin in October 2021, but it was delayed due to the stay imposed by the Supreme Court.

Finally the Supreme Court of India on January 7, 2022, gave its final verdict on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Undergraduate and Postgraduate (NEET-UG & PG) Admission 2021.

In this, the top court asked to retain the 27 percent quota for OBC and 10.

The apex court had said that the process should proceed on the basis of existing 27% OBC (Other Backward Classes) and 10% EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) reservation in all India quota seats. After the decision of the court, now the candidates will get relief from the tweet made by the Union Health Minister.

This announcement is also seen as a relief for the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA). It is known that there was a constant protest from FORDA against the delay in starting the NEET-PG counselling.
