In the wake of rising cases of COVID-19, the Punjab government on Tuesday decided to impose night curfew, shut educational institutions and operate cinema halls with 50 per cent capacity. Officials gave this information.
According to an order issued by the Home and Law Department on Tuesday, the movement of people for all non-essential activities from 10 pm to 5 am within the municipal limits of all cities and towns of Punjab. will be prohibited.
The order said that the district authorities have been directed to ensure compliance of restrictions.
“However, industries working in different shifts, offices, movement of people and goods on national and state highways, buses, trains and There are no restrictions on all essential activities, including the movement of people to their destinations after getting off the plane.
“All these restrictions will continue till January 15 in Punjab.
Punjab Night Curfew and Guidelines

- All educational institutions, schools, colleges, universities and ‘coaching centres’ will remain closed. All classes will now be taken online. Medical and Nursing colleges can continue to function normally.
- Bars, cinema halls, multiplexes, malls, restaurants, spas, museums and zoos will be operated at 50 per cent capacity and full immunization of all their employees is mandatory.
- The order said that sports complexes, stadiums, swimming pools and gyms (except gyms used for training of players to participate in national or international events) will remain closed. However, visitors will not be allowed to go there. Only employees who have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to go to government and private offices, workplaces, factories. Air-conditioned buses will run with 50 percent capacity. No service will be provided to people not wearing masks in government or private offices.
- The order said that wearing of masks in public places including workplaces would be mandatory and should be strictly followed. It will be mandatory to maintain social distance during any activity. District authorities may impose additional restrictions as needed based on their assessment of the situation.
