1. We all have gathered here today to celebrate the 73rd Republic Day of our country. Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26 January with much and pride. The Indian Constitution came into force on this day in 1950. We all know that India got independence on 15th August 1947, but the nation had no constitution of its own.
After several discussions and considerations, a committee headed by Dr BR Ambedkar presented a draft of the Indian Constitution, which was adopted on 26 November 1949 and officially implemented on 26 January 1950.
India is a democratic country. Citizens living in a democratic country have the privilege of electing their leader to lead the country. Though there has been a lot of improvement till now, still the nation is facing some problems like crime, poverty, unemployment etc.

2. Friends…companions…The main purpose of celebrating Republic Day as a special festival is, it is a foundation day of the Indian Constitution. Republic Day has a very interesting history. Every year special programs are organized on 26 January. It is an important day in the life of Indian citizens, which makes everyone understand the importance of having a constitution.
The country of India is known as a democratic and republic nation, in India a ruler is elected according to the vote of the people. As a result of which the elected ruler is placed on the seat of power.
If the people want, they can remove the citizen from that post, on the basis of this, the decision of the people in a republican country is rational.
Due to the sacrifice of all those brave soldiers of India, the countrymen are living independently today. With the establishment of the Indian Constitution, all citizens can exercise their fundamental rights without any fear. 3. The day of 26 January is very special for our country. Because, on this day the constitution of our country came into force. Republic means government by the people for the people. On this day India became a republic country.
The great freedom fighters of India worked hard and struggled to give India complete Swaraj. They have done a lot for us, as a result of which today we are living comfortably in our country. Our first President Dr. Rajendra Prasad had said, ‘We have found the right of our complete great and vast country in a single constitution and union.
Who takes responsibility for the welfare of all men and women living in the country. However, it is a matter of great shame that even after so many years of independence, we are constantly battling and fighting with problems like crime, corruption and violence.
