In view of the increasing threat of Omicron, schools in Karnataka may be closed again. Although no official confirmation has been made about this yet, but Karnataka Education Minister B.C. Such signals are being received from Nagesh’s side.
In fact, he is contemplating closure of schools in view of the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in educational institutions.

If more cases of this deadly epidemic are reported in any educational institution in the state, then a decision can be taken to stop the classes being conducted in schools, colleges, hostels and nursing schools.

Positive cases found in the state
Omicron variant is spreading in Karnataka. Recently, 59 students and 10 staff of a residential school in Chikkamagaluru here tested positive for COVID-19.
To fight the spread of the pandemic, more swabs have been collected from staff as well as students of educational institutions.
Contacts of all the students have been traced, tested and schools sealed.
