Srinivasa Ramanujan interesting facts: Srinivasa Ramanujan

The great mathematician of India, is also called the magician of numbers, with his talent and original power, he did many great researches. Yes, Srinivas sahib started the search for mathematical theorem at the age of only 12 without any formal education and at the age of just 32 made about 3900 theories of mathematics.

By which the problems of mathematics are solved, they are called identities and equations in the language of mathematics. Ramanujan sahib used to think far ahead of his time, in the year 1919 he discovered mock theta, from which the biggest puzzle of the universe can be solved black hole.

Ramanujan used to prove the mathematical formulas which used to take hours for big mathematicians in minutes.

He used to say that there is no point for me in a sutra from which he does not get spiritual thoughts. Ramanujan’s childhood was full of struggles, in the year 1889 all his siblings died due to smallpox.

Let us know some special things related to the life of Srinivasa Ramanujan, the greatest magician of mathematics, which you may not have known till now.

Life introduction

Srinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22 December 1887 in Erode village, Tamil Nadu. Ramanujan’s father was a clerk at a sari shop and his mother was a housewife.

All his siblings died of smallpox in 1889, but Ramanujan was cured. Let us tell you that Ramanujan did not speak for about three years after being born, the family members considered him dumb.

Used to teach tuition to run the household expenses

You would hardly know that Ramanujan used to teach tuitions to meet the expenses of the house.

He used to teach tuition to BA students in class 7th. At the age of 13, he had memorized advanced trigonometry and started building his own theorem.

The journey to become a math genius started from here

According to experts, when Ramanujan was 16 years old, a friend of his gave him a book written by GS from the library, which contained more than 5000 theorems.

After reading this book Ramanujan’s journey to become a math genius started. Being an expert in mathematics, Ramanujan got an opportunity to study at Government Arts College and started getting scholarship.

Due to the cost of registers, slate was used.

Ramanujan used to use slate as registers were expensive. However, he also kept a register in which he used to draw formulas from the slate.

When he went somewhere in search of a job, he often showed the same register, but people ignored it.

world’s greatest mathematician

British professor Hardy Ramanujan was considered the greatest mathematician in the world. It is said that he had rated the world’s talented people at number 100 and gave himself thirty out of a hundred in this list, but gave 100 out of 100 to Ramanujan.

Hardy invited him to Cambridge University in the year 1913. However, in the year 1919, hepatic amoebiasis forced Ramanujan to return to India.

After returning to India, he suffered from a dreadful disease like TB and died on 26 April 1920 at the age of 32. Ramanujan sahib did not get the respect he deserved.

This award started in honor of Ramanujan

Ramanujan Award, also known as International Center for Theoretical Physics Ramanujan Award, was instituted in 2005 in honor of Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Ramanujan Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the world. It is awarded every year to young mathematicians from developing countries who must be below 45 years of age.

And it is presented by the Theoretical Physics Center located in Italy.
