UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2022 Date: Union Public Service Commission,
UPSC Mains 2021 exam is going to start from January 7, 2022. In view of the effects of rising COVID-19 cases, some candidates have filed a petition in Delhi High Court, HC seeking postponement of Civil Services.
The hearing is to be held tomorrow i.e. on January 6, 2022, just a day before the commencement of the main examination.
The case for postponing the UPSC Mains 2021 exam has been made in view of the rapid spread of Omicron.

The petition has been filed by the candidates who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021 and are now eligible to prepare for the main exam.
As per reports, the matter is being taken up tomorrow as the matter is being described as ‘urgent’ and there is very little time left for the commencement of the examination.
This was mentioned before a division bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel. After this, immediate listing was allowed on Thursday.
Whether the UPSC Civil Services Mains 2021 is postponed or not, it will be known only after the hearing tomorrow.
The petitioners have argued that at a time when the country is on the verge of third wave of COVID-19, conducting offline examinations would not be a very right decision and the risk of getting infected would be very high. In such a situation, it is necessary to remain worried.
Arguing further, the petition mentions that most of the centers for UPSC Mains 2021 exam are located in metro cities which are densely populated.
This increases their risk of getting infected and may even be their last attempt for many candidates. So, they don’t want to miss out on this chance because of Omicron.
