UPSC Exam 2022 Extra attempt Update: Replying to a question in Rajya Sabha on behalf of the Central Government on the candidates who aspire to take the UPSC examination, it has been told that there is no intention of giving additional attempt to the candidates.

New Delhi:  

Aspirants who are currently preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 are seeking an additional attempt to appear for the examination from the Center and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and due to the prevailing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In view of this, a demand is being made in this regard. 

On this topic the center has given an important update regarding one extra attempt in UPSC Exam 2022.

The exam is to be conducted at the end of this year. The Central Government has informed that UPSC aspirants are unlikely to get an extra attempt.

The Center on Thursday informed the Rajya Sabha that no proposal is under consideration to give extra effort to the candidates of Civil Services Examination for the year 2022, while several candidates are demanding extra efforts due to the prevailing situation.

The issue of age relaxation and grant of extra effort to candidates in the Civil Services Examination (CSE) due to the COVID-19 pandemic was brought before the Supreme Court of India through writ petitions filed by the candidates, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh. 

According to the report of PTI, a written reply has been given by the government.

Based on the judgments passed by the Supreme Court on behalf of the Centre, the matter has been considered and several attempts have been made in respect of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2022 (CSE) and it is not found possible to change the existing provisions regarding age limit. 

No matter is pending for consideration in this regard.

UPSC Civil Services exam is conducted every year to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS). 

This year UPSC CSE Prelims is likely to be conducted on June 5 across the country.
