In fact, because of the large number of candidates in an exam like CTET, it has to be conducted for several days. In such a situation, different sets of papers are made for the examination.
Many a times candidates complain that the difficulty level of the paper is not the same on all the days.
In such a situation, the day the paper becomes easy, then the candidates get a chance to get more marks on that day.
On the other hand, the day the paper becomes difficult, then the marks get less on that day. Because of this the merit list may be affected.
In view of this, the process of normalization is adopted. In such a situation, the marks of difficult and easy papers are normalized. So that there will be no difference in the merit list.
